Description
Our Harel, was an outstanding 22-year-old officer in the Givat patrol who loved the country with all his heart. On December 22, during an operational activity in Khan Yunis, “Team Itach” ran into a trapped building. As a result, Harel was seriously injured. After fighting for his life for 8 long days, he died of his wounds. Harel always radiated confidence and was a place of safety for his soldiers even in his last moments. The light of the Harel was present wherever it was, and so will the light in the observation tower of the Harel – that it can be seen from every direction. Harel’s light will be lit all year long and will mark a safe spot for social activities, lectures, studying the heritage of Harel’s battle, a variety of activities of youth movements and schools and above all a place that will be used by the community and affect the environment, as Harel affected those around him.
